This varietal tropical orchid struck me with its Ibis-like core. The sacred ibis in Egyptian mythology was personified by a man with the head of the great bird. I wanted to release it, so I made this series where I tried to capture the mythic bird's demeanor. Ibis Orchid #1 is the flower as seen; #2 is the Ibis bird isolated from its context and #3 is the Ibis as I see it in its core shape.
