Yes, a Western Grebe. They "fly" underwater.

This is a Greebe Jack, they have the cooliest mateing dance you ever seen. They get up and run across the water with their necks bent low. Very cool!!

I have seen pictures of them, but don't know the name. A neat bird. That red eye is great.
