Brown Pelican in winter feathers. Along this section the coast highway runs quite close to the ocean. Several businesses, motels and hotels, occupy locations overlooking the sea where many seabirds nest on the cliffs below the business properties and above the beach. This pelican was rising with the air currents while the camera was looking down.
