This man is a member of the Yali tribe in the highlands near Angguruk. He seemed shy but I really wanted to take his photo. I only attempted this after hanging out in this village for most of the morning, not taking a single picture for the first hour or so. When I did finally ask to take his picture, he was quite comfortable with it. Before I left he gave me a New Guinea handshake, which is similar to a western handshake except that it involves a very light grip and can last up to two minutes.
