Sheepeater Cliff

Basalt lava formed columnar joints upon cooling. According the the nearby sign the "cooling process" took place about 500,000 years ago. The cliff was named for Shoshone Indians that lived in the area and their use of Bighorn Sheep. This isn't the best looking scene (no red rock or waterfalls) I've seen in my life but I found it to be a very interesting site to visit.
