Snowy Egret at Lovers Key State Park at New Pass
Fort Myers Beach, Florida USA

I was chest deep in the waters of New Pass at Lovers Key State Park
for this shot of the Snowy Egret when I was warned of the sighting of a six foot
bull shark earlier in the morning by the fisherman next to me. The drop off from the shore
was quite severe and the current was very strong, but I was able to keep my footing.
I made an immediate exit from the water to follow the bird for a moment
and lose it in the mangoves to my disappointment.

Sometimes it's risky buisness to try and get a decent photo and then to have to lose what you trying to get is a huge dissapointment to say the least! I'm happy that you were able to get the nice shot you have here though!
