And So It Begins
I hate winter. I have written on this before. Many times. Many, many times. From this point on, Winter will be easier. The thaw has started.
This is perhaps my favorite time of the year. I love summer, no doubt, but the days leading up to spring are filled with so much anticipation. Everything is slowly becoming new again. The grass is starting to show. The birds are coming back. The creeks and rivers are flowing again. I am not foolish. I realize that I live in Northern, Ohio. It is only mid February and we are going to get smacked again. But whatever snow falls, won’t be here for long. Old Man Winter will throw a few more blind punches in a dark room and he may connect with one, but it’s futile.
I have not seen water dripping anywhere for the past three months, but it has started. Spring is coming one drip at a time. In one month spring will have won. In two months, the flowers will all be back and the trees will be budding. In three months, I will be mowing the grass in shorts. All because of this one drip.
So long winter. I’d like to say it’s been fun, but really, it hasn’t. We have known for a while that this wasn’t going to work out. This is better for both of us. Just go. Don’t look back. Just go.
I hate you.
