I Am So Sick

I am so sick of Microsoft.

I am so sick of my PC, any PC, and all of it’s “Software Compatibilty” problems.

I am so sick of Microsoft trying to convince me that Vista is the new greatest thing.

I am so sick of Vista…..

Being……..

So…….

Freakin………

Slow.

I am so sick of a bunch of different PC makers that all have the same problems with the ONE company that professes to know it all.

I am so sick of being brainwashed by PC.

I am so sick of wishing there was a better way.

Change, my friends, it is a comin.

I've had the pleasure of being a Mac owner all of my computer life, and have had to use PC's at work. I have always loved coming home to my Mac. Ease of use, very few crash problems (minor ones if any), never had to take it in to get anything fixed...it's like a great friend that you can always count on. We are a two-computer household: hubby wouldn't get rid of his PC when we got married and I wouldn't get rid of my Mac. He's already on computer #2 since we've been married, my Mac is still running like a charm.

You won't regret the change if/when you make it Jim, especially for photography work. Can't wait to see the photo of your new system whenever you get it!!!

You won't regret the move! Friend and Pbaser Robbie Arkovich and I both recently made the switch at the advice of a friend of ours who is press photographer. Neither of us will ever go back to a windows system. Lightning fast and no glitches yet!

sorry to hear you got sucked into the vista vortex. best thing to do is re-format and re-install XP. :O) i'm compu-dextrous. i can use both. my first computer was an apple in 1981. then apples sucked and PC's were the way to go. now it's back to apple. whatever...

BTW, apple quietly released a recommendation today for it's users to start using anti-virus software. haha...

Ok so I've only been in bed with my new iMac for just about 2 weeks.....Ya PC's are ok if you build'em right. I'm sure Mr.Gates has staff on hand to push crap into Vista and that antivirus running in the background all the time for $50.00 more bucks a year. My last PC crapped out the hard drives 4 weeks after I got it and took 4 more weeks to fix. The last time it fried the mother board and its been gone now for 3 weeks, and its only 14 months old! So that's about 1 year total use....not good but I must have got a lemon. So if you want the "Nikon" of computers get Mac, runs quite starts in 27 seconds runs Photoshop fast and shuts down in 7 seconds......

In fairness to PC, I recieved this comment from a very credible source within the industry. The comment was pivate for obvious reasons. Here is the main portion:

"Vista is not the issue, the underperforming hardware is the root cause... (and rushing to market too fast might have had somethig to do with it also (Download Vista SP1- it will help)

Mac is only as good as the partners they utilize for software development- they are leaps and bounds more "user" friendly than some others in the sandbox today.

Eitherway, going Mac you can still have the "best"of both worlds."

I'm on my 3rd PC in about 12 years. I hand selected components and built the last two. My current machine is probably going on 7 years old. Running WinXP and rock solid. 24/7/365...always on. If I reboot it once a month, it's because there was a software patch. There are PC's that stand the test of time, too bad I'm the only one who can build one.

Chuck any machine with Vista or buy an OEM copy of XP before it's too late.

If I could afford to buy a mac, I probably would too.

Be careful. Hung works there too.
(but I still love my mac)

I think you need to buy a nice 70-200 vr and not fall for the Stobbs Disease!!!
Guest 02-Dec-2008 14:50
i made the change a while back and will never ever ever buy or use another PC ever again. MAC is the way computers are suppose to work. User friendly, no blue error screens, no problems, excellent tech support... it just took a few months to get use to doing things entirely different way. ... Do it now !!

Gotta agree with Clark here!
debbeeanne02-Dec-2008 14:12
Are you seriously gonna do it? Because my husband and I are having this discussion. He bought me a new Sony VAIO last year, and it has Vista, which has severe problems with our printer, etc. He is pushing for a Mac, but I have a hard time justifying it when my other one is new. So we will see, but the signs are all around, huh?

canon vs nikon, ford vs chevy, mac vs pc..... always makes for good fun.
I'll stick with pc and save some change for good camera gear, good meaning CANON :))
Great shot btw!
pkocinski02-Dec-2008 13:13
I have used both and it's all in what you get used to. Neither is bad if you don't muck around with "things" and keep your anti-virus current. In one college course we were "required" to use a MAC in class and the poor guy next to me had a unit that kept crashing. Talk about a not happy camper!

Excellent image Jim. I like that the store is lit and the surrounding areas are dark.

LOL....Dan and I have debated on this topic a few times, so I was not surprised to see his comment here. IDK, I love my Dell and hear Dan complain a lot about that MAC he has...

Is this a letter to Santa for an Apple?
Dan Chusid02-Dec-2008 08:50
You can join our gang anytime Jimbo.
Doesn't matter what color your Apple is.
:^)
clark langley02-Dec-2008 06:36
Prepare thyself for Nirvana Jimmy boy!!
Next a switch to CANON??
Then a move south to sunny warm Texas!
Ed Preston02-Dec-2008 05:12
