Hi Im David Travis ,I was born in corning calif.in dec of 1953,at the memorial hospital,which I know is closed now. I graduated High School in 1973. I often visit corning when Im on a vacation and am staying with my mom and younger brother in orland. Nice photographs.For reasons of nostalgia ( I guess) I have taken a number of photographs of corning and the surrounding areas when Im in Town.I have taken a number of photographs of the High School, before alot of the changes were made to it. Some people may look on nostalgia in a disparaging manner, but when I see photographs such as ones you have taken, and that I have taken,and if those photographs are of things or places in corning that have not changed much ,or at all, it is like looking back into time, and that is kind of neat.

Good Memories

It looks the same as 1957 except the tower is down and so is the old high school. in 1957 a couple of friends and I (they will remain nameless as they still have relatives in town) climbed the town water tower and painted "Class of 1957" on paper on it. We did not want to destroy the orginal paint so we took up a roll of paper and stuck it on the tower and painted on it. We were NOT sober at the time.

My name is Patsy Stout.I lived in Corning with my family from 1969-1978.Your photos are great and bring back a lot of memories.Most of my friends I had in Corning have either moved or passed away since I left there.I am now living in the Pacific Northwest.Since moving here in 1978 I am now a grandmother of two and a great grandmother of one.Thanks for allowing me to visit your web site.
