Don't know how the blacks who served could stand the treatment reecieved upon returning to the U.S. Better men than I am.

I had the joy and privilege of knowing Theodore Wilson, "The Colonel," and his lovely wife, as their chaplain for a short time while Mr. Wilson was still being cared for at the VA Med Center Nursing facility in San Francisco, CA. Recently, as I was reading about the Tuskegee Airmen in the Inaugural Parade and reflecting on the momentous nature of the presidency of Barack Obama ("Yes we can!!"), I wondered to myself if Mr. Wilson was still living. I am sad to see here that he has passed, but I can assure you he will never be forgotten. All my love to his family. In spirit, Cyndi Johnson

To all of my dad's friends, I have the unfortunate news to tell you that my father, Captain Woodie Spears Tuskegee Airman Class 44F, passed away on May 12, 2008. To all that knew my dad, he was an active spokesman for the Tuskegee Airmen. He could have a group hanging on his every word, telling of his experiences during WW II. His voice will be missed, but his legacy, and that of the Tuskegee Airman, will live on forever. I promise you that. His loving and deeply hurting son, Steve Spears

my father is Captain Woodie Spears, and I am very proud of him and all of the Tuskegee Airmen and all that they accomplished. I was at the Cogressional Gold Medal ceremony in Washington D.C. in March 2007, and I was the proudest person there. God bless them all.

What a fantastic group of men with such a rich history ! So good to see them here, wonder if they really know how much they mean to others ? Wish I knew them all.
