Whitewater Falls is in two sections - The upper falls, most of which you can see in the photo, and the lower falls, which is hidden from view. The upper falls is more than 400 feet (about 122 meters), and the lower falls is slightly less than 400 feet tall. The upper falls is in North Carolina, while the lower falls is in South Carolina. Eric is a professional botanist and teacher and currently lives on Long Island, New York.
