2006-08-27 Late-summer trip to the Green Swamp, Brunswick County, North Carolina. Surprised at the large number of fringed orchids blooming rather late in the season. Saw especially large groups of Platanthera conspicua along the roadsides (Boiling Spring Lakes Road) as well as Gymnadeniopsis integra on Big Island savannah.
