A more straightforward view of the Hewitt Building, looking northeast from the Bowery and East 5th Street. The crane actually has nothing to do with the Hewitt Building destruction. It's being used for the building of the Peck hotel one block to the south. From this spot, but up about six stories, someone has set up a camera to document the demolition of the Hewitt, and the creation of the new academic building on its site.
