Capitol Reef National Park in central Utah protects the canyons, cliffs and domes of the Waterpocket Fold, a wrinkle on the earth that extends almost 100 miles from north to south. The park is sixty miles long and on average only six miles wide as it traces the long rugged up-thrust formation that is 65 million years old.
