Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore – Inland – Michigan

There are very few easily accessible spots to view the spectacular cliffs of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore from the shore. One of those is the view of Miners Castle and the beautiful Lake Superior cove where it sits. It was honestly hard to believe that I was looking at one of the Great Lakes instead of a spot somewhere in the Caribbean!

Along with a trip up the coast to see the 300-foot tall Grand Sable Dunes I also hiked the Sand Point Marsh Trail where I saw, among other things, several frogs sitting on lily pads; a clichι to be sure, but interesting and photogenic nonetheless.
