Bayou Sauvage National Wildlife Refuge - Louisiana
Images of Bayou Sauvage National Wildlife Refuge – Southern Louisiana, taken in August 2016.
On my way to New Orleans from Fort Pike State Historical Park I stumbled upon the Bayou Sauvage National Wildlife Refuge. There were several boardwalk trails in the area which allowed me to hike deep into the bayou and see the water and the flowing grasses from a different perspective; from within the bayou itself. Best of all it gave me access to the wildlife of the area from the large menacing alligator in the water to the birds in the air and a wide variety of dragonflies that were everywhere.
