Acadia National Park, Schoodic Peninsula – Maine

East of Mount Desert Island on the Schoodic Peninsula sits a smaller, but no less spectacular, portion of Acadia National Park. Here I viewed surf that pounded the coastline and produced dramatic breakers as the water met the rocks. Meanwhile only ten to twenty yards away were small tranquil tide pools filled with interesting marine life, some with wild lilies growing along the edge. It was a dramatic and contrasting scene in a truly unique location.
