Campi Flegrei translates to Fields of Fire. One can see here the landscape. It's like the moon, only covered in green as the volcanic field is very fertile. In the background on the right is Arco Felice (look for the arches on the hill), and to the left is Carney Park, a dormant crater rented by the U.S. Navy for an American-style recreational area. Arco Felice is on the ancient road (Domiziana) from Rome to Pozzuoli. The Italians still drive through it today!
