I think I am overcompensatin Brian . Maybe would be better if restricted to 100 and 400 film !!.Its just that 5d2 is suppoed to give good images even at 3200 - but as you say some of those iso used are way off . Those bookies were alongside parade ring - so had it high - and as you say messed up a fine shot with the auto f .

This one is very good, in sense of subject and how caught, amongst a generally good set of images Jim.. However .... (think you know what's coming by now) I just cannot understand why you relinquish potentially higher image quality by using such as ISO 1600 and then a shutter speed of 1/1600 for such a subject (your ISO speeds vary enormously throughout the set) and most would have produced higher image quality (especially colour fidelity) using a lower ISO. Using ISO 400 I can understand and that would have offered a sensible working aperture and shutter speed for most of the shots - with that slight (but worthwhile) uplift of the actual image quality. Worth thinking about more I feel, as you have such a good eye for pictures, especially with people involved.
