I was surprised when I saw this mink burst out of the vegetation and begin sniffing the ground just like a dog, going back and forth across the trail and in and out of the grass at the edge. I was carrying my net in one hand and my camera in the other; he didn't seem to know I was there, and I didn't want to drop the net in order to better work the camera. These are the resulting images from my one-handed photo-shoot!
