This is my month long trip to the most northerly point in the Americas. I am dividing it into 3 parts--South Dakota to Fairbanks, the Dalton Highway, and Fairbanks-Anchorage-South Dakota.
I rode my KLR 650 and it proved to be an almost perfect mount. The plush suspension thanks to Racetech and Works Performance, Corbin seat-Alaska Leather sheepskin seat cover and The Rifle fairing all made the trip possible. The only work I did was keep things adjusted and 2 oil changes. Every morning it would light off and I would thump on.
8,941 miles @ 58.6 MPH average on a bike that cruises at 72 MPH.
Can't complain about that.
