KLR 250

This is the 1989 Kawasaki KLR 250 that I recently sold. It is the same bike that Kawasaki has manufactured until last year, except for the color. 1989 is still my favorite paint scheme. With all of the development around here, I unfortunately rarely used this bike, so I guess it is time for someone else to enjoy it.
It was purchased new by a coworker of mine. He only rode it on the street, and put about 4500 miles on it.
I purchased it from him 2 years ago. It had been sitting and had some rust in the tank and a gummed up carburetor. I cleaned the rust out of the tank and professionally sealed the tank with an epoxy tank sealer so it would not rust again. I also rebuilt the petcock. I tried to get the stock carb to work, but the bike never ran right. I ordered a Mikuni TM33 flat slide carburetor with an accelerator pump from Sudco, made an adapter and jetted it. What a difference from my buddies stock KLR. The bike pulls right from the bottom and makes more power everywhere. Picking the front end up to go over a log is no problem. It uses the stock air box/filter, I installed a new UNI filter. Starting is also much easier than stock and I retained the stock choke lever/cable location.
I also went through the bike and put in a new battery, replaced the fork seals and all of the fluids. It is a very reliable bike, and everything works. Fresh oil change and valves adjusted.
The chain/sprockets have a lot of life left in them. I put a 13t front sprocket on for trail use, but have the stock 15T if it is needed.
Tires are IRC Vulcenduros, they have less than 400 miles on them.
All in all, this is a nice clean bike. The tank has no scratches/dents, the seat is excellent, Plastic is still shiny. No road rash.
Spare levers, stock tool kit, and spare air filter.
