Honda SL195 SS 2012

Honda SL175 SS bored out to 195cc. Proven endurance race winner.
Now the bike has an engine to compliment the chassis--it makes about half again the HP of a stock 175 Honda.
This has turned out to be a great motorcycle. It is reliable, comfortable, handles/rides great, good suspension, tracks well at speed, does not creak and buzz, has good bright lights, usable mirrors, good wind protection, does not leak oil or gas, starts easily, can be run in torrential Canadian summer rainfall, runs on pump gas, and most of all it is fast for it's size. The engine has been built to where it is still durable, but putting out good power. Any further gains would be expensive and progressively smaller. This motorcycle has been used in competition, and has race glass, so it is not a concours bike. The finish is not perfect, and the engine has been in and out many times while developing it.
This bike has served it's purpose of going quickly around Lake Erie. My best time was 10:42 for the 660 miles unsuported and with 2 border crossings. That was before the engine was upsized. Now the bike cruises effortlessly at freeway speeds. This comes at a price though, so the engine has been torn down every year and recieved many new parts.
Engine:
Freshly bored for S12 pistons giving 195cc. Head milled, ported, new valves, multi angle valve job, new valve seals, racing valve springs, cam degreed, new cam chain tensioner, oil cooler, breather box to control the breathing problems on the small Honda Twins, CB175 transmission, HD clutch plates/springs, Pertronix Ignition, 5 Ohm Dyna Coil, solid wires, powdercoated side covers, external caps drilled for safety wire, clutch, oil pump bolts, sprocket bolts etc safety wired. The engine has less than 600 miles on it since last work was done and is well broken in. 15-50 synthetic oil.
Intake/Exhaust:
Tuned for power from 6-9000RPM. Tuned airbox with bell intakes and dual density foam filter, Keihin PE22 carburetors on custom intakes matched to intake ports with ports to synch carbs, quick turn throttle, high flow Harley petcocks, custom 2-1 exhaust to Johnny B specs--reverse cone megaphone with DBS glass pack muffler (looks long but works great and sounds cool.) Head pipes wrapped to prevent fairing damage.
Frame/Suspension:
Frame redesigned to make room for intakes and stiffen swingarm area--SL175 is all tube instead of stampings and is much lighter/stiffer than a CB175 frame. Seat stays lengthened for racing seat/taillight, all welds rewelded, painted with red aircraft polyurethane paint, most of the brackets have been powdercoated black for durability, self locking nuts on everything. Forks are CB200 and have modified damping rods for more travel/topout spring and less compression/more rebound damping, Race Tech springs, fork legs turned down/detabbed and clear powdercoated, new seals. Shocks are RFY 340mm piggyback resevoir shocks with .7mm dia springs, reservoir charged to 95PSI with nitrogen.
Body:
EX250 fairing with Rifle Sport fairing windshield (stock EX250 windshield will also work and is included), everything mounted in rubber so no buzzing/creaking, EX250 Mirrors. 4.5 gallon fiberglass fuel tank modified to fit this application, custom fuel bungs ensuring all fuel useable, 2 coats of Caswell Plating epoxy fuel tank sealant, Glass From The Past seat beefed up for heavy usage, high density foam seat on honeycomb pan with gripper seat cover, GFTP front fender. Tank, fender, and seat painted with base clear argent silver.
Wheels/brakes:
