Nikon D50

All of my images taken with the Nikon D50. This should make it easier to see just how amazing and versatile this DSLR is. It is perfect for anyone thinking about making the leap from point-and-shoots to DSLRs.

Note: Some shots may have been taken with a Tamron 1.4x Teleconverter.

This gallery will take a while to load because it is one page (almost 1000 images in one gallery/page). I did this so it is easier to see how varied this camera is. Sorry for the wait.

The cast you are seeing could be white balance issues (if shot indoors). I've had some color casts sometimes, but usually after I've manually done levels it goes away. If not I just reduce the saturation of the image.

Amazing shots. Just got my D50 about a week ago. What settings do you use for your long shutter night shots to deal with the color cast issues? I have a very orange color cast on all my night photos. Using auto-levels in PS corrects this. Do you experience similar issues out of the camera?

I've seen your pictures and I'm very impressed by the quality and the clearness of them.
The colors are very nice.

You have a very nice gallery with the D50! I am thinking to get a first SLR for myself. I am considering D70s or D50. If to go for the D50 I will have extra budget for to get a addional len. But heard alot of comment that the D50 shutter have some problem sometimes. Could you give me some advice to go for D70s or D50?

I just got my D50 2 weeks ago. I am not really sure how to use it yet, but after seeing your pictures I really want to buckle down, and lean how to really use this camera. Great shots here. Keep up the wonderful work.

I shoot full manual on all settings except for WB and color balance and stuff... I just let the camera figure that out. I do all sorts of stuff on PS (levels, brightness/contrast etc) to make "optimal colors" but the action of taking the shot (focus, film speed, shutter speed, and aperture) I do myself.

Hi I have had mine since Septembe 2005 and taken over 12,000 pictures..I still love mine..but I had to send it to Nikon...it is in the series of Nikon D50`s that had the faulty shutters...but I still think it is a great camera.
