West Bank

Ancient Egyptians believed that the west, where the sun goes down, was the place where people lived their afterlife. On the west bank of Nile in Luxor, there used to be nothing but sandstone mountains and desert. This is where they have chosen to built their huge tombs, bury the treasures and where the dead should rest. Unfortunately tomb robbers have found this place for a long time, and they had taken almost all the treasures away. But the great buildings, carvings and paintings are something that no one can take away.
