Viking Sea docked for a half day in Aalborg, Denmark. The fourth largest city in Denmark, metropolitan Aalborg located on Limfjord has a population of about 220,000. A very industrialized area producing Portland cement, Siemens wind turbines, marine boilers and a growing IT industry. The city has a long history. Established by the Vikings in the 900s, it has always been an important river port. A lot of interesting historical structures in town.
One learning today is that tax on new automobiles is 150%. Don’t see many big cars around. However, I did see several Porches and Ferraris and a Bentley in Copenhagen. Wonder how you say uber-rich in Danish?
