7/7: Property Ladder

This house is listed at $700,000. It's 1500 sq. ft.
My wife intends to buy it as an investment property.
I think it's a good idea, sort of.

I think I'll move to WV!!! $18,000 (£10,000) for Karen's house! Here that would just about pay for a driveway!

where the hell do you live?? I'm in San Francisco.....and ummm, that;s HIGH by MY standards?
Tor10-Jul-2005 07:28
Probably a great idea. And perhaps you can convince her to let you invenst that amount of money on photo-equipment? ;)

North Tustin?
Guest 09-Jul-2005 22:04
Nice but imagine ALL the photography gear you can get for $700,000!
Guest 09-Jul-2005 19:09
I got a co-op unit you can buy for $500,000! ;-)
Does a treasure chest full of gold come with the house?

Guest 08-Jul-2005 14:08
Ni idea wheter good idea or not ("sort of..." = irony?)
Here it would be totally unaffordable for the big majority of people.

Guest 08-Jul-2005 10:38
are you into real estate photography now jeremy? :)
Chris Sofopoulos08-Jul-2005 09:17
Beautiful indeed and seems great investment! Your wife must be a great business mind:))

This would go for about $40,000 here. Maybe you should invest in property in WV. Less of a risk. I just paid $18,000 for my place which is very nice and has over a quarter acre of property and is located in town in a desirable neighborhood. And I have over 1,000 square feet and two outbuildings. $700,000 is a big investment and as someone warned, real estate is subject to fluctuations. Just my two cents worth. And that's about what it's worth too. :)

Been reading about housing 'busts' recently...be careful!
Chris08-Jul-2005 04:21

That sounds like a great investment opportunity. It's a very charming house. The Iowan in me is suffering from sticker shock, though!
