This was taken last night. It is the Borealis light and sound show staged at the Supertree Grove, Gardens by the Bay in Singapore on weekends from 9-9:30pm and every Monday night from 8-8:30pm.
Borealis is created by Switzerland-based artist Dan Archer, and uses light and cloud particles to recreate the magical splendours of the Northern Lights, or aurora borealis, to illuminate the night sky, accompanied by an atmospheric soundtrack by French composer Guillaume Desbois. Variations in wind, humidity and temperature makes the show a unique and ever-changing experience each time.
Borealis has travelled to more than 40 cities across Europe, Asia, Australia and US, and this is its first appearance in Singapore at Gardens by the Bay.
The sky was reddish-brown in colour, and to me this was a sign that it would rain the next morning, and sure it did!
But this show is perhaps best viewed and experienced on video rather than photographs, such as this post on YouTube by others here - Borealis at the Supertree Grove, Gardens by the Bay
Supertree Grove is also featured in BBC’s Planet Earth 2 narrated by Sir David Attenborough, see here - BBC Planet Earth 2 – Gardens By The Bay (Supertree Grove)
