This photo was taken in the large aviary called the Fragile Forest in the Singapore Zoo. We can walk inside the aviary among the animals & birds; they are used to the presence of humans and won’t mind us if we do not disturb them.
I saw this group of ring-tailed lemurs that seem to be from the same family. They were hyper-active, constantly darting about, and turned their backs to me when I tried to take their photos. So I loitered around and waited in the area for what seems like an eternity. And then suddenly, the lemurs decided to huddle together and seem willing to let me take their Family Portrait … 😊
I took numerous shots before they disbanded and disappeared into the trees again. But waiting for all of them to face the camera was a challenge of patience. I did not have my tripod with me, so have to hold my camera & lens focused on them all the time to shoot at the right moment. This was one of the shots, still one of the lemurs was not looking at the camera but its eye was in focus …
Again, this is a “moment-in-time-only” scene. In my subsequent visits to the Fragile Forest, I never saw the lemurs huddled together like this again …
