We reached this waterfall in Bali (Munduk Waterfall) in the late morning. As we approached the waterfall, I caught a glimpse of it and didn’t have much expectation photography-wise. It was not a small waterfall by any measure, but it looked quite similar to many other waterfalls in the region. Moreover, the sky was overcast and the lighting was not great for taking photos …
But as we neared the waterfall, we saw this group of tourists striking some impressive poses in front of the waterfall, oblivious to the attention of other tourists and locals in the area. And then miraculously, the sun broke through the clouds just then for a short while, lighting up the spot beautifully for me to take some quick shots of the waterfall and ‘free’ models with their impressive ‘kung-fu’ and ‘meditation’ poses … ;-)
Shortly after this, while making our way back, the sky opened up and we were stranded in a shelter for quite a while, before making a run for it back to the bus in the rain …
This trip was also memorable in that soon after we returned to Singapore, the Covid lockdowns commenced in Singapore/Malaysia and nearly every other parts of the world, marking a 3-year hiatus in overseas travelling for me.
