I was invited by Amateur Photographer Magazine to take part in a Gardens Masterclass led by Clive Nichols last month. After a burning hot week I drove down to RHS Rosemoor Gardens in Devon to wake up to a grey dull day. The threatened rain never arrived, but the sky was not an attractive part of any of our shots. We concentrated instead on filling the shot with colour from the flowers, visiting various parts of the gardens for inspiration. At the end of the day we were asked to choose our 10 best photographs - out of those where we had been following the theme, so my bluebottle was not allowed! Then finally in this weeks magazine (14 Aug) Gemma has written about our day and I was pleased to see three of my shots in print.
