Paul was the perfect host.
The glasses remained filled and the food flowed from refrigerator to table to stomach seemlessly with a short rest stop on the grill.
The sun did its best to warm us until it set and then Paul's backyard "caldera" took over. Or perhaps it was the grappa and vodka tonics that did the trick.
But, in reality, the company was most likely the key.
I've always seen Peak Potential, not so much as an ambitious non-profit corporation, but rather a group a good friends getting together a few times a week to try to help out our community just a little bit. Tonight's gathering included individuals who have been "key players" in the program's success, both its creation as well as its evolution. And, though I have the program to thank for bringing so many incredible individuals into my life, these friendships have become primary, having found basis in so many more common threads.
So, cheers to friendships and Peak Potential...the two being the same yet wonderfully different.
