9 weeks to go!
Marcia was much smaller the last time I saw her. Then again, the last time I saw her, her "future" son/daughter was also smaller and didn't need as much real-estate. I don't get to visit as much these days now that I'm working more and more at the pediatric rehab hospital. But every so often, research-related tasks take me back to the old haunt.
It's always nice to catch up with Marcia. Time with friends is always short and fleeting. Events happen in our lives, both good and bad. And, during the times we spend apart from friends, we miss those opportunities to laugh together over the joyous events as well as the chance to support each other when pain enters reality. It is not reality to be able to always be in touch. But, it is a comfort to know that there is this network of friends who are "on-call" in case of catastrophe. And the laughs over joyous events can be just as heart-felt when experienced through the "replay" in the form of an unexpected conversation.
