Pete's a good guy. We go way back...as far back as the first day of medical school. Since then, we've both turned into "lifers" in the world of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Even so, life takes us down different tracks which don't cross all that much despite living only a few miles from each other. So, part of me actually looks forward to official meetings and lectures. Sure, I get to learn a little about the sacroiliac joint. But, more importantly (maybe not for my patients but for me at least) it is a chance to catch up with old friends. It's like two "lifers" who are locked up in different cells of a prison, but get to hang out from time to time in the prison courtyard.
