December-29-1004

Today, I attended the funeral of a very good man. He was much too young to pass but cancer doesn't always make the distinction between those who have lived a complete life and those who still have so much promise.
He was an exceptional physician and a generous mentor. Not only was he a teacher to me, he was a caring doctor who helped to heal three injuries from my various mishaps as well as taking care of my mom's injury. I owe him for "keeping me in the game", doing those things that I love the most.
From the representation at his funeral, he no doubt touched countless lives.
I know we are supposed to be celebrating his life but that's a little difficult right now. His family is no doubt in unthinkable pain. I'm sure healing will come for them in time. It is a time to mourn and some day thinking of this individual will bring a smile instead of a tear. I hope that that day will come soon for those who are closest to him.

I could really feel the emotion of the photograph even before reading the touching tribute that you included. The lighting and position of the figure really make a dramatic statement of sadness and despair. a touching tribute to your friend...well done!
