Mid Atlantic German Shorthaired Pointer Rescue Reunion. Held at Faith's house in Sykesville, MD. The food was great and all dogs loved the pool and fenced space! Please contact us if anyone would like to have or use any of these photos. Please see (and support!) the GSP Rescue organization at http://www.mdgsprescue.org/ for more information.
On a sad note, Carolyn and I said goodbye to our GSP "Buddy" Printz shortly before 6pm on Friday, May 25, 2007. We think we adopted him from the GSP Rescue organization (thank you Karen Pratzner) over Memorial Day weekend back in 1995, so there is some symmetry in our losing him the same holiday weekend. This was his last GSP reunion. He was a great dog, and we could not have asked for more. In the words of Karen Pratzner, "he was ready, but we never are".
We will miss Printz terribly, of course, but we knew it was time - he'd turned 16 on April 8, and had stopped eating and declined significantly during the week leading up to the 25th. We're choosing to think that Printz is now off swimming after the ducks or chasing, and perhaps catching, a sandpiper. For pictures of Printz, go to https://pbase.com/jeffhall/printz
We have never been able to attend a reunion, but these wonderful photos make me determined to be at the next one with our dog Hershey. Thanks so much for sharing your pictures. (It was also nice to see a couple of other GSPs sporting full length tails. I am constantly explaining that the reason our "chocolate Lab" is so beautifully slim and fit at almost 9 yrs. old is because he's really a GSP with an undocked tail.)
Condolences on the death of your Printz. He was a lucky dog to have lived to a ripe old 16 with a famly that obviously loved him very much.
