They are Chinese pottery jars found at the bottom of a bay here. Apparently the floor of the ocean is littered with lots of remains and occasionally they are found (almost) whole, as these are.
They were thrown overboard 100 or more years ago when Chinese ships visited the harbour, and probably contained things like herbs or medicines. The crustaceans that cover the surfaces just add to their charm, and it would probably be impossible to remove without damaging the jars which are fragile. I think they add to the appearance.

At first I thought the globes found on railroad tracks...the more I look the less I believe that. However some type of lamp globe?
