My 1st experience with the sea planes, in 2001, was fantastic! they had Canadian or USA Pilots and it was a pure delight!
They replaced them litle by litle by Maldivians, a total disaster! Horrible macho flying, no respect whatsoever for the passengers...
For instances, they would fly higher, even in the midle of clouds, to feel fresh, as the AC on the planes was not working...
