Some things and some days should have never happened...
21st December 1976, the day after my wedding! I wished I could forget, but I cannot...
Besides the rest, as traumatic, we boarded TAP B-727, flight Lisbon/Zurich, and the Geneva. That day, there were no direct flights.
Almost 2 years after the 1974 Revolution, and TAP was absolutely full with Air Force Pilots... Not discussing their competence, the fact was they didn't think so much about the passengers confort...
Right after TOsome quick descent made me feel uneasy. Instead of supporting me, my 'dear beloved wife' started to make fun of me! Pity it was not now, I wouldn't even leave the plane, and return home to Lisbon...
But in fact, the small flight from ZUR/GVA was very interesting, I even took some photos! http://www.pbase.com/jdrpc/image/165199322
Now, the return flight on the 30th December will always be on my mind as something to forget. There was an huge snow storm in Geneva, and the flight was very delayed, to that evening.
Right after TO, we experience a tremendous amount of 'air pockets' like I never had before, or since! Absolutely horrendous!
And even after arriving at cruise altitude, the Boeing didn't stop shacking tremendously. One of the passengers next to me complained to 1 of the Stewardesses who said it was because of front winds...
All in all, result of this mess, it took me almost 10 years to recover, and I refused to fly TAP as much as I could!
Fortunately, they changed! And how much!
