Focus Stacked Images

Presented in this gallery are images that have been created by taking multiple photos of the same subject (all at slightly different points of focus) and then "stacking" them together to be presented as a single image (the number of photos needed is represented in the title of each photo so one can get an idea of how many images were needed to get the photo as-presented). The reason I do this is to ensure that as much (or as little) as I want of the subject is in focus while the remaining parts are pleasantly blurred. This can be an exhaustive technique, one that can take a significant amount of time, planning and effort. The results are rewarding though and offer a view of the flowers that I couldn't normally have from just a single photo.

All of the photos presented here are magnified more than 1x, meaning I used attachments on my camera lens to allow it to focus closer than it normally could. This then magnifies these small parts and brings them to more vibrant life than would normally be seen.

My main goal for this whole process is to show all the tiny details that go unnoticed and to present the flowers in a more abstract way.
