Moffett Field Historical Society Museum, May 9, 2023
After visiting the Redwoods earlier in our trip, our friends went home, and we headed down to the Monterey Bay area. While there, I went on my whale trip, Janet went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and we went to Muir Woods National Monument. We had also arranged to donate some things from my father, who was part of the Navy Blimps program to the Moffett Field Museum. I donated a large, framed photo of a blimp over part of New Jersey (likely Lakehurst or Tom’s River), along with another rolled up photo of all the sailors involved with the Blimp program in Lakehurst, NJ, plus a couple of belt buckles and a few other things. The first image in this gallery is the framed photo I donated, and you can see one of the belt buckles below it. BTW: The Blimp hangars, both on the East and West coasts were all built with Sitka Spruce Timber from the Pacific Northwest!
