This morning when we got up, Dixon and I discovered that an adolescent bear had slept right behind our cabin. A "volunteer" with the park service chased it down to the beach. However, it then went back along the beach and came back up near the dining building. The volunteer then hazed it again and it ran right past the door to the cabin, where I opened to door so Linda and Janet could watch it run past about 10 feet from our door! After breakfast we again crossed the river on the floating bridge and all went to the falls. After coming back for lunch, I headed back ahead of the rest of the group and crossed the bridge again, but could not go further at that time. Eventually, the rest of our group were able to cross the bridge. At that point, Janet decided to stay there for photos while the rest of us went to the falls until we needed to come back to catch our plane.
