View of Mt. Rainier from Alta Vista! I actually had to step about 10 feet off the trail to even see this much of Mt. Rainier. I asked a ranger after doing this hike and was told the this is a very old trail that is their steepest trail, with no actual view of Mt. Rainier! Fortunately, the trail does go down to meet the Skyline Trail and from that point, there is a good view of Mt. Rainier.
