We got married in October, 1972 in Honolulu, Hawaii, at the start of a 4 island tour. While on the big island, we were able to walk 1/4 mile from a parking area to see a lake of active lava. This lake is what is now called Mauana Ulu (though now it is a cone about 400 feet high).
