Look closely at this neighborhood. Notice anything unusual?

Above is an aerial view of Carrollton, or what is left of it. This is the neighborhood in Bridgeton, Missouri where I spent my childhood (courtesy of Google).

At least I had a street to return to. Most of Carrollton is underneath the runway south of the interstate highway cutting through the image. Since this story is about, at least in part, an unnecessary runway expansion, an aerial view seemed an appropriate addition. Choose "original" below to see a very large image.
