On the evening of 3rd July 2008, a group of Network Rail employees took part in a fund raising game to raise money for one of their colleagues who was involved in a serious motorcycle accident on his way home from work. The teams were from the S&T Depot at Rugby and a team of all comers from Northampton depot. The event raised £700 and many thanks are due to Andy Bald & Dave Taylor for organising the game. The game was hard fought and the The Allstars narrowly lost 7-0 but if you look at picture 51 you can see the referee was suffering from severe impairment to his judgement so the result was voided!
The Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance was instrumental in ensuring Anthony was quickly stabilised and transferred to hospital following the accident. Anthony has currently had 10 operations and is scheduled for an 11th shortly for another skin graft. Anthony has asked me to set a link up to raise money for this deserving cause so accordingly i have set a page up to allow anyone visiting these pages to make a donation if they feel inclined.
Please go to www.justgiving.com/rugbyallstars and make a small donation to help ensure the air ambulance can continue to provide an outstanding service in the future.
