Hybridity

Newport, RI

Not my car; mom's car. Taken on Thanksgiving Day. I've been having computer problems the last few days -- Adobe's licensing service choked the night before Thanksgiving, rendering all things Adobe inoperative. Tech support was closed for the holiday (someday I'll have to learn more about how they celebrate Thanksgiving in Bangalore) through Monday. So Monday Adobe got fixed...and promptly broke Office. Fixed Office this morning. About five days out of service total, all because of piracy protection on software that I own legally. That'll teach me.

All of this has nothing to do with hybridity, but I thought I'd share.

Update 2/16/10: Apparently it had a lot to do with hybridity after all. After all, this hybrid has
been recalled because of a software flaw that makes it unsafe to drive. I guess I should count my blessings,
my computer isn't about to kill me (I don't think).

Computer programmers, are there for the same reason as maths teachers, to make your life hell.
Which in turn makes the rest of your dull life seem so much better when there is no computer or maths teacher about.
I am speaking (writing) personally of course.

Being legit can be a hassle. Tech support in India must be showing support for their American customers by closing down on Thanksgiving weekend. I've had similar problems with Adobe PS. Adobe licensing software likes to bury itself in the start-up process of the OS, trying to disable this resource hog causes Adobe products to misbehave and fail to load properly. I understand the need to protect their investment but Adobe, and Microsoft, go overboard with the intrusive copyright scripts.
Mom has a nice car!

Nice photo of a nice car and a very nicely told tale of woe.
I am glad I'm not the only one who has computer problems.
Would be nice to have a hybrid, though. Or is it "have an hybrid"?

Blimey, I thought the Bug had been given the boot ;o) So, the moral is to just steal your software? lol

Ah, the problems when you change your computer and try to reinstate your paid-for software on the new machine. I'd call that Adobe's impermeable system to block off the raining invasion of the pirates, but the rest of us get left out in the cold too from time to time. So your picture does a have relevance to your note after all. And your mom's car looks good too....

We didn't have these frustrations when it was just pen and paper did we?
Smart looking car.

Thank you for sharing. I like the brand of that car, but why is there still some blue color in the logo?
