The classic forecastle of the Queen Mary, with a well deck splitting the main deck. Her designers later admitted she was a bit 'dowdy' and dated the day she entered service. Certainly the tapered, swept, Art-Deco liner Normandie made her look old by comparison. But that never hurt her popularity.
