We were at the top of a small mountain in Homer. The city is behind and below us, and the Homer Spit is the narrow peninsula that juts out into the Kachemak Bay. Our hotel was at the very tip of the Spit and provided an incredible panoramic view of the bay and the Kenai Mountains that surrounded it.
