I have a few Vireyas growing and they seem to flower at any time of the year.
This is one I had to move from the front of the house, away from the salt spray wind, to the back where is gets the late afternoon sun.
It’s hardly grown in the last 14 years, but still flowers profusely when it feels like it.
Vireya Rhododendrons come from the tropics and will do well through much of coastal NZ.
